Welcome to the latest Ancon newsletter. This month, we've launched the Ancon LinkPro - a range of high strength steel wire loops that make lifting heavy concrete easier. We are also pleased to confirm that the Ancon BT range has been tested to the requirements of the NZTA Bridge Manual, Revision 3.

Ancon LinkPro Lifting Loops for safe, efficient, precast concrete handling

Ancon has launched a range of fibre-cored lifting loops for the fast and safe handling of precast and prestressed reinforced concrete units used in major civil engineering projects, including bridge and shell beams.

Easy to install without the need for recess formers and with no requirement for special lifting clutches, LinkPro lifting loops are designed for use with standard lifting hooks and shackles, making site handling and installation of concrete sections faster, easier and more cost-effective.

Manufactured from corrosion-resistant, multi-stranded steel wire rope, LinkPro loops generate low bending stresses under load and are suitable for all axial and diagonal lifting applications with a sling angle of up to 60°.

LinkPro is available in a range of standard sizes with a Working Load Limit from 4.0 tonnes to 57.0 tonnes. Other sizes are available upon request.

Ancon BT system meets the requirements of NZTA Bridge Manual

Ancon is pleased to confirm that its BT range of parallel threaded reinforcing bar couplers and anchors meets the requirements of revision three of the Bridge Manual (SP/M/022), developed by the NZ Transport Agency.

This product range includes:
 - BT Couplers for mechanically splicing reinforcing bars
 - Ancon Anchors for anchoring reinforcing bar, replacing the need for cogged or hooked bar ends
 - KSN Anchors for use with BT threaded bars to provide reinforcement continuity at construction joints.

The NZTA Bridge Manual is a key engineering document that sets the criteria for the evaluation of existing bridges and the design of new structures and earthworks.

Among the many changes to the previous edition, section 4.2.1 of revision 3 demands higher standards for the mechanical coupling and anchorage of reinforcing bars.

Over the last 12 months, Ancon has developed and tested its system in accordance with the more stringent requirements and communicated all findings to the NZTA.
